Our Visit To The January Furniture Show 2024

We started the new year in style by attending the January Furniture Show at the NEC in Birmingham. The January Furniture Show is the only dedicated European furniture show that takes place in the first quarter of the year. The show is the perfect opportunity for Genelle and Rachel to visit suppliers, new and old, and allows them to get a sneak peek of what to expect in the world of interiors in 2024.

Earthy Tones Taking Centre Stage.

2024 sees a continuation of the last quarter of 2023 as earthy tones, such as teal, terracotta and sand were a recurring theme throughout the show. These colours weren’t just being used as accents, they were becoming the focal point of designs, gracing sofas, accent walls and even entire furniture collections. Expect to see these earth-toned palettes influencing our staging designs, bringing a sense of tranquillity to the spaces we craft.

“Wood” You Believe it?

Amidst the array of trends observed at the January Furniture Show, one prominent theme that captured our attention was the increasing prevalence of wood in interior design. Wood emerged as a true hero, its warmth and natural charm permeating every corner. Exhibitors showcased a perfect fusion of timeless elegance and contemporary flair through the use of this natural material. From reclaimed wood accents to sustainably sourced lighting fixtures, the emphasis on wooden elements reflects a broader movement towards eco-conscious design. One standout was Furniture Link’s collection of tables and sideboards, each piece a true conversation started and perfect to add another dimension to your interior design.

A 70s Resurgence.

Think bold geometric patterns, pops of burnt orange and mustard yellow and a touch of that unmistakable retro flair. 70s influence was sweeping throughout the exhibition and bringing groovy vibes to every stand. The companies introduced fluent lines and curved shapes to their stands with eye-catching 70s inspired furniture. These curves weren't just aesthetically pleasing; they were an invitation to unwind and embrace the playful shapes that promised ultimate relaxation.

New Partnerships Were Formed.

Genelle and Rachel visited many suppliers during their trip to the January Furniture Show looking for a vast array of products, and they weren’t disappointed. We are excited to be starting our partnership with a number of brands in 2024 to be able to offer you the best products in the world of lighting, furniture and accessories.

New Product Launches.

As well as meeting new suppliers, the show presented the perfect opportunity to view upcoming ranges for our current suppliers. The team have already started working tirelessly to handpick the best of these new releases and they will be released in the coming months and will be prominent on our website and socials.
